The FAMCO Initiative began as a direct response to data gathered by COFTM and CineFe in the Colorado Film Study. While that survey highlighted Colorado's broad and diverse community of filmmakers, it also revealed that nearly everyone faced the same core challenges in building a thriving, sustainable local industry. As a next step, Shawna Schultz, the current Vice President of the CFVA, established an annual Town Hall to unite our community and collectively foster a stronger film and media landscape in Colorado.
That initial vision has now evolved into the Film and Media Community of Colorado (FAMCO) Initiative. To sustain its growth, the Colorado Film and Video Association has made this initiative a core priority. As the state’s oldest media organization, the CFVA views this initiative as vital to our ecosystem and central to our mission of leading with solutions to the biggest challenges our industry faces.
As we look to the future, our most critical ingredient for success is you. We invite you to get involved: join us at the annual Town Hall and State of the State, join the CFVA, or volunteer with one of the many incredible organizations in our FAMCO community. There are so many ways to drive real change and step up as an industry leader.
